Welcome to JelaniCobb.com. This site is intended as both an information clearinghouse on my upcoming events, lectures and projects and an introduction to my work as a scholar and writer.

One of my first memories in life is my father’s huge hand engulfing mine as he showed me how to scrawl the alphabet and I have been writing ever since. I’m glad to be able to offer my work in a new, interactive platform.

I am of the belief that dialogue is essential, perhaps now more than ever before. The work contained here marks my attempts to start various conversations, some of which are very time-specific, others are enduring themes that we are still grappling with.
